UK manufacturing activity continued contracting in October: SP Global UK Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index came in at 44.8 in October, up from 44.3 in September but below the earlier flash estimate of 45.2. Output and employment, stocks of purchases declined together with lower new orders, and suppliers' delivery times improved which indicates weak demand. Production fell for the eighth successive month in October, the most sustained sequence of unbroken contraction since 2008 – 09. And selling prices decreased for the fourth time in the past five months. Contracting manufacturing activity is bearish for GBPUSD. However the current setup is bullish for the pair.
